NASCLA Hosted 4th Annual Mission in Partnership with New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department
Santa Fe, New Mexico — The National Association of State Contractors Licensing Agencies (NASCLA) proudly hosted its 4th Annual Mission on December 3, 2024, in collaboration with the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department’s Construction Industries Division and the New Mexico Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHSEM). This year’s initiative was generously sponsored by Lowe’s Installation Services, with essential distribution support provided by DHSEM.
This mission exemplified NASCLA’s commitment to building partnerships that create meaningful impact. Organized with the invaluable help of the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department, the effort focused on providing emergency kits filled with essential supplies to residents affected by recent natural disasters, including the South Fork and Salt Fires near Ruidoso (Lincoln and Otero Counties), the Hermit’s Peak and Calf Canyon Fires (San Miguel and Mora Counties), and recent historic flooding in Roswell (Chavez County).
“The Construction Industries Division was proud to support this mission that helped individuals affected by fires and floods recover, rebuild, and heal,” said Martin Romero, New Mexico Construction Industries Division General Construction Bureau Chief. “This collective effort with NASCLA and DHSEM strived to help New Mexicans overcome the challenges brought by these natural disasters and find resilience and a brighter path forward.”
“Our State Disaster Case Managers were with the folks impacted by these disasters every step of the way. They heard their stories, learned what type of help was needed, and built relationships that will stay with them for the rest of their lives. We were grateful to partner with NASCLA and the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department to provide this additional resource,” said Ali Rye, State Director of DHSEM.
NASCLA members and volunteers packed the emergency kits, while DHSEM ensured their swift and effective distribution to families in need. The collaboration between NASCLA, the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department, Lowe’s Installation Services, and DHSEM highlighted the power of organizations working together to serve communities in crisis.
“Partnerships like these are what made our mission possible,” said Angie Whitaker, NASCLA Executive Director. “With the organizational expertise of the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department and the support of DHSEM and Lowe’s Installation Services, we ensured that families recovering from disasters received the help they needed when they needed it.”
"This mission reflected the core values of NASCLA—collaboration, service, and a commitment to making a positive impact on communities in need," said David Fogt, NASCLA President and Registrar of the California Contractors State License Board. "We were proud to join forces with dedicated partners to bring aid to families facing the challenges of recovery after these devastating events."
