NASCLA Contractor Licensee Database

The NASCLA Board of Directors and Model Legislation Committee realize the value of centralized data long with so many professional associations across the country. As part of the NASCLA strategic plan, we are prioritizing a central repository database for jurisdictions using mutual recognition, expedited licensure processes and other procedures to enhance license mobility and portability.

NASCLA is pursuing a long-term project to create a repository database to house contractor licensing information that will allow participating agencies "search" functionality. This project is anticipated to take place in multiple phases.

NASCLA Contractors Disciplinary Database

The NASCLA Contractors Disciplinary Database is a very effective and useful tool. Many of the NASCLA State Members use the database on a daily basis to pre-screen contractor applicants. States can search multiple fields including first/last name, company name or general search.

The association's board of directors has adopted the following restrictions regarding the program:

  1. Information will only be made available to construction licensing boards and agencies.
  2. The directory will not be made available to licensing boards and agencies electing not to provide data on revoked licensees.
  3. NASCLA membership is required before participation in the program.

The program has been fully funded by the association since its inception in 1990.

The information contained in the database is a direct reflection of the completeness and accuracy of the revocations reported to it. The listing is a summary of actions taken by reporting licensing boards and agencies and should not be misconstrued to be all-inclusive. Every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the information, however, the association makes no representations or warranties as to the accuracy of the contents of this database.

The NASCLA Contractors Disciplinary Database is designed solely as an alert mechanism and as such should not be used as the basis for any action against an applicant or licensee. For verification and elaboration of a specific revocation reported herein, the user should complete a "Uniform Information Request Form" and forward it to the agency identified as revoking the particular license.
